Kaila Evelyn (b. 1998) is a self-taught, Canadian artist born and raised in Saskatoon, Sk. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelors in Kinesiology she decided to pivot and follow her passion for art. Her acrylic paintings are guided by the belief that celebrating playfulness is the best means to a painting well-done. She creates from a bold palette and works in layers to build vibrant paintings. Although the canvas may be where those ideas land, that isn't where they start. Preparing for a series often includes birdwatching in her own yard, gardening and hiking to find the best inspiration.
