Standing Strong by Sarah Lightfoot Wagner
Standing Strong is carved from one piece of Soap Stone, the carving is all done under water to protect the artist’s lungs. The green being the polished stone and the other is left in its natural state. The form reminds me that the tree is resisting the wind and standing strong even through its roots are in the Canadian Shield. This art is 10" wide by 12" high by 9" deep.
