Jane A. Evans has for years created landscapes that are distinctively serene, evocative and inviting. She lives near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Jane has training in fine arts from universities, holds degrees in literature and education, and is a Master Weaver.  Her artworks are in magazines, books, and collections around the world and have won many awards in exhibitions in the United States and Canada. She has been nominated for Canada’s most prestigious awards in craft, has taught weaving throughout North America, and has written a well-received book and numerous articles.

After 40 years as a fibre artist, in 2012 she refocused from fiber art to painting with acrylics and watercolours, including collage work and monotype printmaking. Her monotype prints are hand-made, unique pictures made by painting on a glass surface with acrylic paints, then placing a sheet of paper to lift up the wet paint on to the paper. Repeated layers of this process build a one-of-a-kind, final image.
